Opole University of Technology

Opole University of Technology is a university located in Opole, Poland. The university was founded in 1959 as a consultative branch of Silesian University of Technology. In 1966 it became an independent university known as Wyższa Szkoła Inżynierska w Opolu (Higher School of Engineering in Opole). The name Politechnika Opolska (Opole University of Technology) is used since 1996. The university has over 500 lecturers and over 12000 students.

Czarnowąsy is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Dobrzeń Wielki, within Opole County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It lies approximately 7 kilometres south-east of Dobrzeń Wielki and 7 km north-west of the regional capital Opole. Before 1945 the area was part of Germany. The village has a population of 3,500.

Opole University

Opole University is a university in Opole. It was founded in 1994 from a merger of two other educational institutions. It has eight faculties: Faculty of Philology; Faculty of History and Pedagogy, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Information Technology, Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law and Administration, Faculty of Chemistry. The university has 17,500 students doing 32 majors and 53 specializations.

Opole

Opole is a city in southern Poland on the Oder River (Odra). It has a population of 125,992 (June 2009) and is the capital of the Upper Silesia, Opole Voivodeship and, also the seat of Opole County. Today, many German Upper Silesians and Poles of German ancestry live in the Opole region; in the city itself, Germans make up less than 3% of population.
