Brętowo
Brętowo is one of the quarters of the city of Gdańsk, Poland. It includes 2 housing estates, Niedźwiednik and Matemblewo, that are located inside Oliwa forests. The old (now-closed) railway track from Wrzeszcz (Langfuhr) to Kartuzy (Karthaus) goes through the quarter, with Gdańsk Brętowo (PKP station) being the former station. As few railway bridges were destroyed, the remaining bridges are used by alpinists to train.

The club was founded by people expelled from Lwów, who were supporters of Lechia Lwów. Founded in 1945, Lechia was a powerhouse in Polish football during the mid-1950s. The Gdańsk University of Technology is a technical university in Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz, and one of the oldest universities in Poland. It has nine faculties and more than 24 thousand undergraduate, as well as about 400 doctoral students. In 2004 it employed 2500 people, including 1200 academics. The rector of the university is Henryk Krawczyk. In 1995 Wirtualna Polska was founded there and the office of the company is still located in one of the former campus canteens.
