The Guadiana International Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Guadiana River connecting southern Spain and Portugal. It is not split evenly between the two countries, with a greater share of it situated in Portugal. Completed in 1991, its structural type is a cable-stayed bridge, with a deck of prestressed concrete. The bridge is open to vehicles only. The bridge is 666 metres long with the central span between the towers being 324 metres.

Cacela Island
Cacela Island, in the Algarve region of mainland Portugal, was a peninsula up to the winter of 2010, when the sea cut the peninsula and turned its westernmost part into an island. Access to the island's beach is made by the public service of boat in summertime (1.5 € a round-trip per adult) near the Cacela Velha pier named Fábrica. The former peninsula was 4.4 kilometres in length and its width was 0.05 to 0.15 km.
