Moçarria

Moçarria is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Santarém, with 12.11 km ² of area and 1072 inhabitants (2001). Density: 100.1 inhabitants / km ². Situated on a hill in the area called the "Neighborhood" from Santarém near the municipality of Rio Maior by the west, the parish of Moçarria dista 11 km from town. Historian Manuel Silva Conde, believes that the toponym Moçarria is of Arab origin or Mozarabic (musta'rib or muzarra) which means Joy.

Santarém, Portugal

Santarém is a city forming the heart of the Santarém Municipality in Portugal. It has a population of 28,760 whilst the entire municipality has 64,124 inhabitants. It is the capital of Santarém District. The present Mayor is Francisco Moita Flores, a former police detective and a television screenwriter, elected by the Social Democratic Party. The municipal holiday is March 19.
