Tua River
Tua is a river in northeastern Portugal, flowing by the border of Vila Real District and Bragança District. It is a tributary of the Douro River. The biggest and most important city it flows through is Mirandela. The Tua line was a narrow gauge railway which closely followed the banks of the river. Construction started in 2011 on the Foz Tua Dam, which will affect the lower reaches of the river and submerge much of the trackbed of the Tua line.

Tua Station
Tua Station is located in northern Portugal, close to the confluence between the Douro and the Tua River. The station opened in 1883, being the eastern terminus of the Douro line until extended as far as the Spanish border in 1887. Although the station is still served by Comboios de Portugal (CP) main line trains on the Douro line to/from Oporto, it was formerly the junction for the scenic, narrow-gauge Tua line to Mirandela and Bragança. The Tua line closed in 2008.
