Geography of Qatar
Qatar is a peninsula in the east of Arabia, bordering the Persian Gulf and Saudi Arabia, in a strategic location near major petroleum deposits. Qatar occupies 11,437 km on a peninsula that extends approximately 160 km north into the Persian Gulf from the Arabian Peninsula. Varying in width between 55 and 90 km (and mi), the land is mainly flat (the highest point is 103 m) and rocky.

Losail International Circuit
Losail International Circuit is a motor racing circuit located just outside Doha in the Persian Gulf State of Qatar. Built in just under a year by 1,000 workers at the cost of $US 58 million, the track opened in 2004 to the inaugural Marlboro Grand Prix of Qatar, won by Sete Gibernau. In addition the circuit hosted the 2006 Grand Prix Masters of Qatar won by Nigel Mansell. The track is 5.380 km in length, with a main straight of just over a kilometre at 1,068 metres.

Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix
The Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. The Losail race track in Qatar represents the debut race of each MotoGP season. In 2008, the track held the first night event in MotoGP history. Races are generally held during the day for safety-related reasons.

Umm Salal Mohammed
Umm Salal Muhammad, or sometimes Umm Salal Muhammed, is the capital city of the municipality of Umm Salal in Qatar. Umm Salal Muhammad is a small settlement in the center of the country and is different from most of the other urban developments in Qatar for that reason. The famous Lusail City and the Barzan Tower are some of the few known historic places in Qatar that are located in Umm Salal Muhammad.

Lusail
Lusail is the newest planned city in Qatar, located on the coast, in the northern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail is located about 15 km north of the city centre of Doha, just north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over 35 km² and eventually provide accommodation for up to 250,000 people. It has marinas, residential areas, island resorts, commercial districts, luxury shopping and leisure facilities, including two golf courses and an entertainment district. Construction is still ongoing.
