Chernyshevskoye

Chernyshevskoye is a settlement in Nesterovsky District in the eastern part of Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia, on the border with Lithuania. Between Chernyshevskoye and Lithuanian Kybartai is an important 24-hour border crossing point on the A229 principal road and the railway route connecting Kaliningrad with Moscow through the European Union member Lithuania and Belarus.

Liepona

Liepona is a small rivulet that flows for 22.9 km on the border of Lithuania – Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. Left tributary to Širvinta, Liepona originates in Lithuania, near Kylininkai village. In 1980, a 26-hectare pond for irrigation was built about 16 km from the mouth. It is famous for an incident in June 1940 when President of Lithuania Antanas Smetona had to cross the shallow river in order to reach Nazi Germany in the aftermath of the Soviet ultimatum to Lithuania.

Yasnaya Polyana, Kaliningrad Oblast

Yasnaya Polyana is a rural settlement (posyolok) in the Nesterovsky District of Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast, north of the Romincka Forest. Nearby Diwnoje Nowoje is a railway station on the former Prussian Eastern Railway from Kaliningrad to Kybartai in Lithuania. The settlement was originally known as the village of Trakehnen in East Prussia, named after the Old Prussian word trakis, meaning "great bog".

Chistye Prudy, Kaliningrad Oblast

Chistye Prudy is a rural locality (a settlement) in Nesterovsky District of Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. The settlement is located fifteen kilometers from the Russian border with southwestern Lithuania. Tollmingkehmen was mentioned in the written sources in the 14th century. In 1589, it became a center of a parish.
