Repola
Repola is a parish in the Republic of Karelia of the Russian Federation by the Finnish border. In 1926 the parish had a population of 1465. After Finland's declaration of independence the parish became an issue in Finnish-Russian relations when its population held a vote in August 1918 to join Finland. There are many islands on the lake. Leksozero is used for fishery. The lake drains trough the river Lieksanjoki that flows into the lake Pielinen in Northern Karelia, Finland. These lakes are part of the Vuoksi River basin in Finland and Russia, which in turn is part of the Neva River basin in Russia.
