Cape Fonar
Cape Fonar is the easternmost point of the Crimean penunsula in Ukraine. The cape is located on the western shore of Kerch Strait near the exit to Azov Sea. The cape was named Fonar that means lamp or light since it was often used as a base for navigation cressets. Nowadays the Yenikalsky Lighthouse is located on top of Cape Fonar. Unpopulated rocky coast of Cape Fonar attracts large amounts of seabirds, also dice snakes are common there.

Russian battleship Rostislav
Rostislav was a pre-dreadnought battleship built by the Nikolaev Admiralty Shipyard in the 1890s for the Black Sea Fleet of the Imperial Russian Navy. She was conceived as a small, inexpensive coastal defence ship, but the Navy abandoned the concept in favor of a compact, seagoing battleship with a displacement of 8,880 long tons . Poor design and construction practices increased her actual displacement by more than 1,600 long tons .

Chushka Spit
Chushka is a long narrow peninsula, or sandy spit, in the northern part of the Strait of Kerch which extends from Cape Achilleion to the south-west in the direction of the Black Sea for almost 18 km. The Chushka Spit forms the northern shore of the Taman Bay; the southern shore was formerly the Tuzla Spit. It has many long branches extending to the south and was formerly joined to the Kerch Peninsula by the Kerch Strait Bridge. The main harbour on the spit is Port Kavkaz.

Kerch Strait Bridge
The Kerch Strait bridge is a proposal for a bridge spanning the Strait of Kerch between the Chushka Spit, Taman Peninsula, Russia and the Kerch Peninsula, Crimea, Ukraine. The current connection is by ferry between Port Kavkaz and Port Krym. On 25 April 2010, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed an agreement to build the bridge.

Strait of Kerch
The Kerch Strait connects the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, separating the Kerch Peninsula in the west from the Taman Peninsula in the east. The strait is 4.5 kilometres to 15 kilometres wide and up to 18 metres deep. The most important harbor is the Crimean city of Kerch which gives its name to the strait, formerly known as the Cimmerian Bosporus. The Russian side of the strait contains the Taman Bay encircled by the Tuzla Spit to the south and Chushka Spit to the north.
