Koltsovo Airport

Koltsovo Airport is an international airport located 16 km (10 mi) southeast of Yekaterinburg, Russia. The airport is a hub for Ural Airlines and Aviacon Zitotrans. The airport was opened in 1928 as a military airbase and became a civilian airport on July 10, 1943. In October 1993 it acquired international status. As of 2005, Koltsovo is the fifth largest airport in Russia and a member of Airports Council International (ACI).

Ural State Technical University

Uktus Airport

Uktus Airport is an airport in Russia located 20 km southeast of Yekaterinburg. It is a small airfield 5 km south of the larger Koltsovo Airport. Google Earth images shows dozens of general aviation prop planes and five helicopters.

Yekaterinburg TV Tower

Yekaterinburg TV Tower is a tall incomplete structure in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Construction works started 1983, but were on-hold at the beginning of the 1990s, as its shaft reached a height of 220 metres. According to plans, the tower was intended to reach a structural height greater than 400 metres. Until the year 2000 it was illegally used for buildering and BASE jumping. After several fatal accidents, it was sealed.
