Temple of All Religions

The Temple of All Religions (Russian: Храм всех религий) or the Temple of the Universe is an architectural complex in the Staroye Arakchino Microdistrict of Kazan, Russia. It consists of several types of religious architecture including an Orthodox church, a minaret, and a synagogue, among others. It is currently under construction, having been started in 1992 by local artist and philanthropist Ildar Khanov.

Markiz Island

The Markiz Island is a small island in the Kuybyshev Reservoir of the Volga River near Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. The island, as well as the neighboring Uslon Islands, were formed in 1956-58 when the reservoir was filled from the larger island, also named Markiz. The original Markiz was a favorite recreation place for the Kazan inhabitants in the first half of the 20th century. The beach and the rest center on the island existed until the original island was drowned in the reservoir.

Gruzinsky (settlement)

Gruzinsky is a settlement in Zelenodolsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, situated 15 kilometers east of Zelenodolsk, the administrative center of the district. The village is located on the Kazan–Zelenodolsk road. Gruzinsky's population was 75 in 1989 and 66 in 2000; mostly ethnic Russians and Chuvash people. It was founded in 1925.

Kizichesky Monastery

Kizichesky Vvedensky Monastery is a small male monastery in Kazan. The monastery was founded in 1691 by Adrian—the Moscow Patriarch, who until 1690 were the Kazan Bishop. The name Kazichesky means Holy Martyrs of Cyzicus. The monastery was devoted to the martyrs because parts of their relics were brought to the monastery—according to the wishes of Adrian. In the 1690s Vvedensky Cathedral (Presentation of Mary Cathedral) and Vladimirskaya Church (Church of Vladimir Icon of Virgin) were built.
