Agryzsky District

Agryzsky District is an administrative and municipal district, one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the republic on the bank of the Izh River. The area of the district is 1,796.6 square kilometers . Its administrative center is the town of Agryz. Population: 36,626; 36,848; 39,336. The population of Agryz accounts for 52.7% of the district's total population.

Izh River

The Izh is a river in Udmurtia and Tatarstan, Russian Federation, a right-bank tributary of the Kama River. Its length is 226 km (97 of them in Tatarstan) and its drainage basin is 8,478 km². It origins near Malye Oshvortsy,Udmurtia and falls to the Nizhnekamsk Reservoir, Kama River near Golyushurma tract in Agryzsky District, Tatarstan. The river's major tributaries are Agryzka, Chazh, Kyrykmas, Varzinka, Varzi Rivers. The mineralization 300 to 500 mg/l. Its drainage is regulated.
