Aksubayevsky District is an administrative and municipal district, one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the south of the republic. The area of the district is 1,440.1 square kilometers . Its administrative center is the urban locality of Aksubayevo. Population: 32,161; 33,154; 32,664. The population of Aksubayevo accounts for 31.1% of the district's total population.

Bilär

Bilär was a medieval city in Volga Bulgaria and its second capital before the Mongol invasion of Volga Bulgaria. It was located on the left bank of the Small Cheremshan River in modern-day Alexeyevsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan. The city was founded by the indigenous Bilyar tribe of the Volga Bulgars. In the Rus chronicles, it was also known as "Great City" (Великий город), because its population reputedly was in excess of 100,000.
