Nyabarongo River
The Nyabarongo (or Nyawarungu) is a major river in Rwanda, part of the upper headwaters of the Nile. The river begins in Nyungwe Forest, at a location considered by some to be the most distant source of the Nile. From this source it follows a course up to the north-western part of the country, then down through the centre to the south-east, eventually forming the main tributary of the Kagera River, which flows into Lake Victoria.

Kibuye
Kibuye is a city in Karongi district, and the capital of Western Province in Rwanda. The city lies on the eastern shore of Lake Kivu, about halfway down, and between Gisenyi and Cyangugu. It is known as a beach resort and is home to a genocide memorial marking the massacre of 90% of the town's Tutsi population in the Rwandan Civil War. Koko River, Rutsiro District
The Koko River is a river in the Rutsiro District of western Rwanda that flows into Lake Kivu. It is one of the main rivers draining the western Rwandan mountains into Lake Kivu, the other being the Sebeya River. {{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}} During the colonial era the river defined the boundary between the Kibuye and Gisenyi Prefectures. {{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}} The settlements of Gasiza and Murunda are close to the Koko's convergence with the Rwishwa River. {{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}}

Rukarara River
The Rukarara River (or Lukarara) is a river in western Rwanda that is a tributary of the Mwogo River, in turn a tributary of the Nyabarongo River. It is the most distant headwater of the Nile. The Rukarara has its sources in the Nyamagabe District. The Nyirabugoyi and Rubyiro rivers are its main headwaters, both rising in the Nyungwe National Park. {{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}} The Rukarara is the longest of the streams that supply the Mwogo.
