Georgetown, Ascension Island

Georgetown is the capital and chief settlement of Ascension Island, Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, situated on the west coast of the island. The town is centred around St Mary's Church, part of the Diocese of St Helena and the former Exiles Club, which is on the site of the original Royal Marines barracks from the times of Napoleon's exile to Saint Helena in the early 19th century.

HMS Maeander (1840)

HMS Maeander was a Seringapatam-class sailing frigate of the British Royal Navy. Her service included the suppression of piracy, the Russian War, and support for the suppression of slavery with the West Africa Squadron. She was wrecked in a gale in 1870.
