Saint Paul Charlestown is one of 14 administrative parishes that make up Saint Kitts and Nevis. It is located on the island of Nevis, and the parish capital is Charlestown, which is also capital of the entire island. Saint Paul Charlestown is the smallest parish in the federation, being only 4 square kilometers in area, and consisting of barely more than the town of Charlestown, and its portion of Nevis Peak.

Charlestown, Saint Kitts and Nevis

Charlestown is the capital of the island of Nevis, in the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Leeward Islands, West Indies. Charlestown is situated on the leeward side of the island of Nevis, near the southern end of Pinneys Beach. Historically, in colonial times, the town of Charlestown was protected by Fort Charles to the south and Fort Black Rocks to the north.

Saint John Figtree Parish

Saint John Figtree is one of 5 administrative parishes which make up the island of Nevis, and which in turn are part of the 14 parishes within the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The parish capital is Church Ground. The parish church was the place where the registration of the marriage between young Nevisian plantation family widow Frances Nisbet and Horatio Nelson was carried out in 1787, when Nelson was a young sea captain.

Siege of Brimstone Hill

The French invasion of Saint Kitts also known as the Siege of Brimstone Hill (11 January – 13 February 1782) was a siege of the American Revolutionary War. After landing on Saint Kitts, the French troops of the Marquis de Bouillé stormed and besieged Brimstone Hill, and after a month of siege the heavily outnumbered and cut-off British garrison surrendered.
