Saint Thomas Lowland Parish

Saint Thomas Lowland is one of 5 Nevis parishes which are in turn part of the 14 administrative parishes that make up the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The coast of this parish consists primarily of sand beaches with palm trees, most notably the 3-mile long Pinney's Beach, which is often considered to be the best beach in the Federation. Behind the sandy coastline are several small lagoons, including the freshwater lagoon of Nelson's Spring, which is next to the village of Cotton Ground.

Siege of Brimstone Hill

The French invasion of Saint Kitts also known as the Siege of Brimstone Hill (11 January – 13 February 1782) was a siege of the American Revolutionary War. After landing on Saint Kitts, the French troops of the Marquis de Bouillé stormed and besieged Brimstone Hill, and after a month of siege the heavily outnumbered and cut-off British garrison surrendered.

Nevis

Nevis is an island in the Caribbean Sea that forms part of the inner arc of the Leeward Islands chain of the West Indies. It is located near the northern end of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, about 350 km east-southeast of Puerto Rico and 80 km west of Antigua. Its area is 93 km² and capital is Charlestown. Nevis and the island of Saint Kitts to the northwest form the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
