Salamumu

Salamumu is a village on the south west coast of Upolu island in Samoa. The village has two settlements, Salamumu Uta (population 290) and Salamumu Tai (population 80). Although the village is geographically located on Upolu, the village is politically (and historically) part of the Gaga'emauga electoral district on the island of Savai'i.

Matautu village (Lefaga)

Matautu is a village in the large traditional settlement of Lefaga in Samoa. The village is situated on the south west coast of Upolu island and lies within the political district of A'ana. The population is 858 (2006 Census). It was the film location of Return to Paradise, starring Gary Cooper. There are a number of villages and geographic areas called Matautu in Samoa.

Gagaifo o le Vao

Gagaifo o le Vao is a village on the island of Upolu in Samoa. It is in the political district of A'ana. The population is 596 (2006 Census). The village is also a sub-village pito nu'u of the larger village enclave of Lefaga.

Lefaga

Lefaga is a village district on the south west coast of the island of Upolu in Samoa. The American movie Return to Paradise (1953), starring Gary Cooper was filmed at Matautu village in Lefaga. The 50th anniversary celebrations of the making of the movie took place in Lefaga in November 2003. A number of villages and districts in Samoa are called 'Matautu.
