Hira

Hira or the Cave of Hira (غار حراء Ġār Ḥirāʾ ) is a cave about 2 mi from Mecca, on the mountain named Jabal al-Nour in the Hejaz region of present day Saudi Arabia. The cave itself is about 12 ft in length and 5 ft 3 in in width. It is notable for being the location where Muslims believe Muhammad received his first revelations from God through the angel Jabril, also known as Gabriel to Christians.

PIA Flight 740

Pakistan International Airlines Flight PK740 was a Boeing 707-340C that crashed after takeoff from Jeddah International Airport on 26 November 1979. Flight PK740 departed Jeddah at 01:29 for a flight to Karachi after pilgrimage. The aircraft was climbing to FL370 (37,000 feet) when, at 01:47, a stewardess reported a fire near the aft cabin passenger door. The crew started a descent from FL300 and were cleared to descend to 4,000 feet.

Mina, Saudi Arabia

Mina (Also known as the Tent City) is a neighborhood of Mecca in Makkah Province, in western Saudi Arabia. It is situated 5 kilometers to the east of the Holy city of Mecca. It stands on the road from Mecca's city centre to the Hill of Arafat. It covers an area of approximately 20 km². Mina is best known for the role it plays during the annual Hajj pilgrimage. There are more than 100,000 air-conditioned tents which provide temporary accommodation to visiting pilgrims.

Jamaraat Bridge

The Jamaraat Bridge is a pedestrian bridge in Mina, Saudi Arabia near Mecca used by Muslims during the stoning of the devil ritual of the Hajj. The bridge was originally constructed in 1963, and has been expanded several times since then. The purpose of the bridge is to enable pilgrims to throw stones at the three jamrah pillars from either the ground level or from the bridge.
