Snežnik Castle
Snežnik Castle is a 13th-century castle located in the southwest part of the Lož Valley near the settlement of Kozarišče in the municipality of Loška Dolina, Slovenia. Its name is coincidentally identical to a univerbation based on the Slovene word sneg 'snow', but is actually a Slovenized form of the name of the noble house of Schneberg, whose possession it initially was. The Schnebergs were followed by the houses of Lamberg, Eggenberg, Lichtenburg, and Schönburg-Waldenburg.

Battle of Turjak Castle
The Battle of Turjak Castle (Slovene: bitka za Turjak) on September 19, 1943 was an encounter between the Slovene Partisans who were the armed wing of the pro-Allies Liberation Front of the Slovene People, against the pro-Axis White Guards, during the latter half of World War II. During September and October 1943 the capitulation of Italian forces in Yugoslavia led to a rise in partisan activities as the partisans claimed back lands and seized weapons.
