Mirna (Sava)

The Mirna is a river in southeastern Slovenia. The river, in which the marathon swimmer Martin Strel first learned to swim, is a right tributary of the Sava River in the province of Lower Carniola. It is 44 kilometers long, starts below the settlement of Velika Preska, flows through the Mirna Valley and joins the Sava at Dolenji Boštanj, opposite Sevnica. The largest settlement on the river is Mirna.

Lower Sava Valley

The Lower Sava Valley (Slovene: Posavje, also Spodnje Posavje and Posavska regija) is a region in southeastern Slovenia on the border with Croatia. It has three major urban centers: Brežice, Krško, and Sevnica. Its borders are almost identical with those of the Lower Sava statistical region. It extends along the lower part of the Sava River, on the border with Croatia. In terms of its acreage, it is the second smallest region in Slovenia because it has only 885 km² and covers 4.4.

Matija Gubec Stadium

Matija Gubec Stadium (Slovene: Stadion Matije Gubca) is a multi-use stadium in Krško, Slovenia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and hosts speedway competitions, including a grand prix for world championship. The stadium has a capacity of 1,728 seats. During speedway competitions the standing area surrounding the track is opened for public and therefore the race can be viewed by more than 16,000 individuals.
