Aliwal Shoal
The Aliwal Shoal is a rocky reef which is the remains of an ancient sand dune approximately 5 km off the coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The reef plays host to many kinds of hard and soft corals and a variety of tropical and subtropical fish species. Aliwal Shoal was named after the near-sinking of the 3 Masted vessel "Aliwal", Captained by James Anderson in 1849. There are two wrecks near the reef that are prime sites for divers.

Illovo River
The Illovo River is in KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. It rises in the upper Illovo area in the Richmond vicinity near the Drakensberg, and empties into the Indian Ocean near Winklespruit. During the year 2009, the mouth of the Illovo River moved significantly, moving north by approximately 0.7 kilometers within a year from the original mouth area at Illovo Beach, KwaZulu-Natal.
