Kattankudy
Kattankudy is a big town in Batticaloa District, Eastern province of Sri Lanka. It's governed by an Urban Council. It was the site of the Kattankudy mosque massacre of 1990. With over 40,883 inhabitants As of 2011, Kattankudi is one of the few towns in Sri Lanka where ethnic Moors (Muslims) form the over all majority of the population. Villages and towns surrounding the area, however are dominated by Tamils; hence ethnic conflicts between the two communities are common.

Batticaloa Fort
The Batticaloa Fort was built by the Portuguese in 1628 and was the first to be captured by the Dutch on 18 May 1638. Later, the fort was used by British from 1745. The fort has a structure of four bastions and protected by the Batticaloa Lagoon from two sides and a canal of the other two sides. The fort is still in reasonable condition and many local administrative departments of Sri Lanka government function in new buildings, which is based in the old structure.

Kallady Bridge (Tamil: கல்லடிப் பாலம்; also known as the Lady Manning Bridge) is a road bridge in eastern Sri Lanka. It crosses the Batticaloa Lagoon at Batticaloa. The bridge is part of the A4 Colombo-Batticaloa highway.
