Paragaswewa is a rural village located in Kurunegala district, North western province of Sri Lanka. Melsiripura being the closest town, which is about 3 km away. Paragaswewa can be reached via A6main road, if you are coming from Kurunegala direction you have to turn to right side at 15th mile post and enter the gravel road which will lead you to the village after traveling about 1.5 km from A6 main road. Written documents about Paragaswewa are available from 1931.

Welagedara Stadium

Welagedara Stadium (Sinhala: වෙලගෙදර ක්‍රීඩාංගණය, Tamil: வெலகெதர விலையாட்டு அரங்கம்) is a multi-use stadium in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka. The stadium was officially declared open by the then Minister of Home Affairs, Justice Felix Dias Bandaranaike in 1972. It is currently used mostly for cricket matches and hosts the Wayamba Cricket Team. The stadium can hold at least 10,000 spectators. Welagedara stadium hosted its first international match when Pakistan played there in 1985.
