Nai Aru Lagoon

Nai Aru Lagoon (or Nay Aru Lagoon) is an estuarine lagoon in Mullaitivu District, north-east Sri Lanka. The lagoon is fed by a number of small rivers, including Nay Aru (Mullaitivu). It is linked to the sea by a narrow channel to the south that is very often blocked by a sand bar. The lagoon's water is brackish. The lagoon is surrounded by dense forest, scrubland, rice paddies and coconut palm. The land is used for prawn fishing and paddy cultivation.

Kumarapuram (Sri Lanka)

Kumarapuram is a small village in Trincomalee district in Sri Lanka. The village was founded in 1981 by Kumarathurai, after whom it is named. It was the scene of the Kumarapuram massacre in 1996.

Vidyananda College

Vidyananda College (Tamil: வித்தியானந்தக் கல்லூரி Vittiyāṉantak Kallūri) is a provincial school in Mulliyawalai, Sri Lanka. Established in 1951, it was the first school in Mullaitivu District to achieve "college" status.

Mullaitivu

Mullaitivu is the main town of Mullaitivu District, situated on the north-eastern coast of Northern Province, Sri Lanka. A largely fishing settlement, the town in the early 20th century grew as an anchoring harbour of the small sailing vessels transporting goods between Colombo and Jaffna. The town has a District Secretary's office, many other government institutions and schools located in and around the area.
