Western Province, Sri Lanka

The Western Province (Sinhala: බස්නාහිර පළාත Basnahira Palata, Tamil: மேல் மாகாணம் Mael Maakaanam) is the most densely populated province of Sri Lanka. It is home to the legislative capital Sri Jayawardenapura as well to Colombo, the nation's administrative and business center. The Western Province has an estimated population of 5,837,294 and covers an area of 3,694.20 square kilometres, as per the provincial gross domestic product-2010.

Wadduwa

Wadduwa is a town situated in the western coast of Sri Lanka about 33 km south of Colombo. It spans from within the 30.5 to 36.5 km area along the Galle Road and sideways 4.5 km for the land side and around 1 km for the seaside too. It is a very popular tourist attraction in Sri Lanka, with golden beaches that would enchant anybody in the world. It is also famous for its rich cultivation of coconut palms and as a major producer of toddy and vinegar.

Padukka

Padukka is a town in the district of Colombo in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. It has a population of roughly 8,000. Elevation 44feet. Padukka, which is part of the Avissawella electorate is situated 33 kilometers east of Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, and on the bank of Pusweli Oya on a high ground surrounded by marshland.

Sri Sumangala College

Sri Sumangala College, in Panadura, Sri Lanka, was founded on March 3, 1909 at Rankoth Viharaya in memory of Ven. Weligama Sri Sumangala Thero, who played an important role in Sri Lankan Buddhism. It is one of the oldest schools in the country. It is a national school, i.e. , it is controlled by the central government as opposed to the Provincial Council. It is one of the largest Buddhist school in Sri Lanka, with a student population of 4000 over 13 Grades.
