Isön

Isön is a small island in lake Storsjön, Jämtland, Sweden. The island is very sparsely populated and is a part of Andersön's nature reserve. In winter an ice road connects Isön to the nearby larger island of Norderön. The route is also serviced by a ferry year round. On the other side (south east) the island is connected with a short bridge to another small island, Skansholmen, which connects further to the mainland.

Kusbölehelvetet

Kusbölehelvetet is a canyon near Gräftåvallen in Berg Municipality, Jämtland County, Sweden, through which runs Helvetesbäcken (Hell creek), home to arctic char. A scenic tourist spot, the canyon is some 20 meters deep, runs some two kilometers long, and is graced with one of Sweden's most unpleasant place names. Kusbölehelvetet is an old name, made up of three parts: kuse, meaning "bear" or "strongman"; böle, "settlement", and helvetet, Hell.

Åre Östersund Airport

Åre Östersund Airport, previously known as Östersund-Frösön Airport is located about 11 km west of Östersund, Sweden and 94 km east of Åre, Sweden. The airport opened in 1958. Åre Östersund airport is an international airport and served 377,868 passengers in 2011.

Storsjön

Storsjön (lit. "The Great Lake") is the fifth largest lake in Sweden, with an area of 464 km² and a greatest depth of 74 m. It is located in the province of Jämtland in modern Jämtland County. From Storsjön runs the river Indalsälven and the lake contains the major island Frösön. The city of Östersund is located on the east shore of the lake, opposite Frösön.

Frösön

Frösön is the largest island in the lake Storsjön, located west of the city Östersund in Jämtland. During most of recorded history the island was the regional centre of Jämtland. Frösön is the location of "Frösöstenen", the northernmost raised runestone in the world, dating from 1030-1050 AD. Frösön was a separate köping until 1974 but was merged with Östersund at that time. The island is named after Freyr, the Norse God of fecundity and love.
