Strömsund Bridge

The Strömsund Bridge is a cable-stayed road bridge, bringing road E45 over Ströms vattudal, in Strömsund, Jämtland, Sweden. The bridge is 332 m long, with a 182 m long span. It was opened in 1956, and it was the largest cable-stayed bridge of the world at that time, constructed by Franz Dischinger, from Germany and a pioneer in construction of cable-stayed bridges.

Ströms vattudal

Ströms vattudal is an extensive water system in the northern parts of Jämtland in Sweden. The water system stretches from Kvarnbergsvattnet in the north, close to Gäddede on the border to Norway, to Russfjärden in Strömsund in the south where it flows into Faxälven near Ulriksfors.
