Forsakar Nature Reserve

The Forsakar Nature Reserve is situated in the North-Eastern part of the Scania province of Sweden, in the Kristianstad municipality near the village of Degeberga. The 2.5 hectare large nature reserve was founded 1928 and mainly encompasses a 750 metres long and 40 metres deep ravine . The ravine runs from west to east and is likely a product of erosion during some of the ice ages.

Vittskövle Church

Vittskövle Church is a church in Kristianstad Municipality, in Skåne, Sweden. It is part of the Diocese of Lund. The church was originally built during the 12th or 13th century. In the 15th century a chapel was built in the north. The chapel was dedicated to Saint Anne. The vaults were built in the 15th century with mural paintings from the 1480s, showing stories from Genesis. These were later painted over, but again restored in the 20th century.

Vä is a former town in Scania, now a village in the municipality of Kristianstad, ca 5 km south west of the town of Kristianstad. The name stems from the old Danish word wæ, meaning cult place or holy ground. Around 1170, the Danish Archbishop Eskil founded a Premonstratensian convent on the site. In 1213, the convent was burnt down and the monks moved to the convent in Bäckaskog. The church was rebuilt, and is standing today still.

Kristianstads Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve

Kristianstad Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve, a protected swamp area in the Hammarsjön Lake, surrounding the town of Kristianstad in Scania, southern Sweden. Sweden's lowest point is located in the reserve at 2.41 metres below sea level. The point is at the bottom of what was once Nosabyviken, a bay on the lake of Hammarsjön. The bay was drained in the 1860s by John Nun Milner, an engineer, to get more arable land for Kristianstad.
