Ryssberget

Ryssberget is a hill in the municipality of Sölvesborg, in the southeastern Swedish province of Blekinge. Ryssberget is made up of some of the oldest stone in Blekinge, so-called metavulcanites created about 1700 million years ago. As the ice age came to an end, the ice melted away creating the Baltic Glacier lake. This covered most of what is now mainland Blekinge and Scania. The highest level of the lake can be seen on Ryssberget and is called the highest coast line.

Olofström Municipality

Olofström Municipality (Olofströms kommun) is the only inland municipality of Blekinge County in southern Sweden. It borders to Osby Municipality, Kristianstad Municipality, Bromölla Municipality, Sölvesborg Municipality, Karlshamn Municipality, Tingsryd Municipality, and Älmhult Municipality. The town of Olofström is the seat of the municipality.

Gammalstorp

Gammalstorp is a minor community in Sölvesborg municipality, Blekinge. Gammalstorp was between 1863 and 1970 a municipality. In contrast to other municipalities of the time, Gammalstorp did not have a particular administrative centre. Instead, the functions were divided between the villages of Norje and Gammalstorp. Vesan

Lake Vesan: the lake system Vesan in Sölvesborg was from the beginning not a lake, but a strait up until the early 1920s. In the area between Ryssberget and Listerlandet, water from Hanöbukten flowed in and in effect cut of Listerlandet from the rest of the mainland. The sound was open to sail through up until the 18th century, but increased growth of reeds made the opening too narrow.
