Church of Holm, Uppland

The Church of Holm is located in the Parish of Holm, between Lårstaviken and Gorran in Mälaren, 17 km north of Bålsta, in the Municipality of Enköping in Uppland, Sweden. Holm is probably the smallest parish in Sweden today, with a population of 26 residents enlisted in the year 2000. The church was constructed in 1678 above the ruins of an earlier medieval church.

Sjöö Castle

Sjöö Castle is a castle in the tiny Parish of Holm, in the Municipality of Enköping in Uppland, Sweden. The Sjöö Castle Palace with its park is considered one of the most beautiful in Sweden, with its perfect and harmonious proportions. The recorded history of the courtyard of Sjöö Castle begins from the Middle Ages. In 1409, Peter Laurensson took over the estate. In 1541, Gustav Vasa bought the estate from the bailiff Jacob Vestgöte Sjöö.

Gottsunda

Gottsunda, is a district in Uppsala, Sweden. In 2007, it had 9,474 inhabitants of whom 4,610 (48,7%) had a foreign background. The name is derived form the farm Gottsunda, and Gutasund or Guttasund is mentioned in sources as far back as 1304. The majority of present buildings were built as part of the so called Million Programme in the 1960s and 1970s. The Swedish botanist Carl von Linné is known to have made excursions to Gottsunda with his students during the 18th century.
