Värmland

 Värmland is a historical province or landskap in the west of middle Sweden. It borders Västergötland, Dalsland, Dalarna, Västmanland and Närke. It is also bounded by Norway in the west. Latin name versions are Vermelandia and Wermelandia. Although the province's land originally was Götaland, the province's current land is Svealand. The origin of the province's name is uncertain.

Mårbacka

Mårbacka is a mansion in Sunne Municipality in Värmland, Sweden. Author Selma Lagerlöf was born and raised at Mårbacka. The main building was constructed in 1793 and rebuilt in 1921-1923, designed by architect Isak Gustaf Clason. The estate was owned from about 1720 by the assistant vicar Olof Morell and then was inherited by two of his successors in office.

Ransäter

Ransäter is a minor locality (småort) (pop. 130) in Munkfors Municipality, Sweden. It is the birthplace of Erik Gustaf Geijer and Tage Erlander.

Ransäters bruksherrgård

Ransäters bruksherrgård, even called Geijersgården, is a mansion and Erik Gustaf Geijer's birthplace located at Ransäter in Värmland, Sweden. There is a museum in the main building of the mansion. Earlier Ransäter was an ironwork. It was built in the 17th century by mayor Johan Börjesson who later also built Munkfors work. The ironwork had three bar iron hammers which were closed in the end of the 19th century.

Fryken

Fryken is a chain of three lakes in Värmland, Sweden: Upper, Middle and Lower Fryken. The lakes are separated by two sounds, Sunnesundet and Nilsbysundet. The total length of Fryken is 80 km, but it is only 3 km wide at the widest part. The maximum depth is 120 meters and it is located at 62 meters above sea level. Fryken is drained by Norsälven.
