Kungsör Municipality

Kungsör Municipality (Kungsörs kommun) is a municipality in Västmanland County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Kungsör. The present municipality was formed in 1971 when Kungsör and Kung Karl (from which Kungsör had been detached as a market town in 1907) were amalgamated Geographically situated at the western end of lake Mälaren. Arboga Airport

Arboga Airport is an airport serving Arboga in Västmanland County, Sweden. It is a former Swedish Airforce backup base located outside of Arboga used by the Test Unit of SWAF for tests of airborne missiles. Today, the airfield is solely used by the local flying club.

Arboga Municipality

Arboga Municipality (Arboga kommun) is a municipality in Västmanland County in central Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Arboga. In 1971 the City of Arboga was amalgamated with a part of the rural municipality Medåker, forming a municipality of unitary type. In 1974 the parish Götlanda was added from the dissolved Glanshammar municipality and transferred from Örebro County.

Hjälmare kanal

Hjälmaren Canal is a 13 kilometres long canal that connects Lake Hjälmaren with Lake Mälaren in Sweden. The canal was taken into use in 1639, aimed to transport iron from the Central Swedish Mining District to Stockholm and further abroad. Plans to extend the canal east of Örebro to Lake Vänern and further to Göta älv were never realized. Instead Göta Canal, located further south and taken into use in 1832, fulfilled the aimed function of connecting the Baltic with the North Sea.
