Schächental

The Schächental is an alpine valley of Uri, Switzerland, formed by the Schächen river. The valley stretches to the east of Altdorf for some 10 km. Situated in the Schächental are the municipalities of Bürglen (525 m), Spiringen (923 m) and Unterschächen (995 m). The valley terminates in the Klausenpass (1948 m), which connects to the Urnerboden, leading towards Glarus. A side valley, the Hinter Schächen branches to the south of Unterschächen, extending for some 4 km.

Spilauersee

Spilauersee is a lake in the Canton of Uri, Switzerland, below Rossstock. The lake can be reached by foot in half an hour from the Chäppeliberg–Lidernen aerial tramway.

Tell Monument

The Tell Monument is a memorial to William Tell in the market place of Altdorf, Canton of Uri, Switzerland. The bronze statue of Richard Kissling was inaugurated in the August 28, 1895 at the foot of an old tower. It shows the Swiss national hero with his crossbow and accompanied by his son. At the base is the traditional date of Rütlischwur of 1307.

Seewlisee

Seewlisee (or Seewli) is a lake in Uri, Switzerland at an elevation of 2028 m. Its surface area is 9 ha. The lake lies at the foot of the Gross Windgällen. The lake can be reached by foot in 2-3 hours from the cable car Silenen-Chilcherbergen.

Erstfeld railway station

Erstfeld is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Uri and municipality of Erstfeld. The station is situated on the Gotthard railway, at the foot of the ramp up to the Gotthard Tunnel. The station is served by an hourly InterRegio train between Locarno and Arth-Goldau, which continues alternately either to Basel SBB or to Zürich HB, and by line S2 of the Stadtbahn Zug, which operates hourly between Zug, Arth-Goldau and Erstfeld.
