Jingtong

Jingtong is a locale in Pingxi District, New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. Originally a coal mining town, today it is known mostly for tourism, with numerous souvenir shops and exhibits on the history of the area and the coal mining industry. Jingtong Railway Station was built by the Japanese in the 1930s. The town is a terminus of the Pingxi Line of the Taiwan Railway Administration.

Shifen waterfall

Shifen waterfall is a scenic waterfall located in Pingxi District, Taiwan, on the upper reaches of the Keelung River. The falls' total height is 20 meters (66 feet) and 40 meters in width, making it the broadest waterfall in Taiwan. It is a cascade waterfall in which the water flows in one direction and the rock is sloped in the opposite.

Huafan University (HFU, 華梵大學) is an institute of higher education founded by members of the Buddhist community in Taiwan. It is located in Shiding District, New Taipei City. The university consists of 4 colleges, 12 departments, 12 graduate institutes, and 5 research centers.

Xizhi District

Xizhi is an inner city district in New Taipei City in northern Taiwan. In the past, the Xizhi area was the Kypanas locality (峰仔峙社) of the Ketagalan Taiwanese aborigines. The old name in Chinese refers to the fact that the tide from the Keelung River stops at Xizhi and goes back to the sea. During the Japanese rule, the place name was changed to 汐止 (shiodome, literally "end of tides"), which is the source of the current name.
