重建心希望阿嬤的古厝導演陳宏銘八八水災後,嘉義縣梅山鄉瑞里村受到重創,觀光人潮不若以往,在當地經營民宿的阿嬤陳劉月英,去年丈夫過世,又面臨八八水災的影響,瑞里道路中斷,民宿門可羅雀。一群由七年級生,重返瑞里旅遊看到災後蕭條景象,於是號召300多位網友上山幫忙,利用當地人提供的竹子,來作民宿景觀的設計。這次改造活動吸引學生及各行各業、外籍人士來參與,利用三月及四月份三個週末九個工作天,完成民宿改造。 ..

Jiji, Nantou

Jiji or Chichi is an urban township located in the west central portion of Nantou County in Taiwan. In past years, the Jiji township encompassed a much larger area and included the present-day Shuili rural township, but today's Jiji is well known as now being, by area, the smallest of Taiwan's townships. The epicenter of the major 1999 earthquake in Taiwan was located in and named after the township. Jiji today is a popular destintation for domestic tourists and daytrippers.

Lalu Island

Lalu island is a small island in Taiwan's Sun Moon Lake. The island used to be much bigger, separating the lake into a part shaped like crescent moon and another part shaped like a round sun. When the island was still bigger, people used to live on it. Two events decreased the size of the island. First, construction of a dam in the 1930s raised the water level in the lake and thereby flooded almost the entire the island.

Sun Moon Lake

Sun Moon Lake is the largest body of water in Taiwan as well as a tourist attraction. Situated in Yuchi, Nantou, the area around the Sun Moon Lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes in Taiwan. Sun Moon Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu. The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon, hence the name.

Mingjian, Nantou

Mingjian is a rural township located in the west central part of Nantou County in Taiwan. Its name originates from a Japanese transliteration of the Taiwanese word, Lama, meaning a very wet place.
