ÇOMÜ Ulupınar Observatory

The ÇOMÜ Ulupınar Observatory (UPO) is a ground-based astronomical observatory, which was established in 2001 and formally opened on 19 May 2002. It is also known as Çanakkale Observatory or the University Observatory. The Ulupınar Observatory is part of the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Faculty of Secience and Arts.

Çanakkale Airport

Çanakkale Airport is an airport in the city of Çanakkale, Turkey. Airport has one Runway, configured as 04-22 direction and 1800x30 m length. Total passenger traffic was 18,423 in 2009. Çanakkale

Çanakkale is a town and seaport in Turkey, in Çanakkale Province, on the southern (Asian) coast of the Dardanelles at their narrowest point. The population of the town is 106,116 (2010 estimate). The current mayor is Ülgür Gökhan. Çanakkale Province, like Istanbul Province, has territory in both Europe and Asia. Ferries cross here to the northern (European) side of the strait. The city is the nearest major town to the site of ancient Troy.

HMS Arno (1915)

HMS Arno was a unique destroyer of the Royal Navy that saw service and was lost during First World War. She was under construction in Genoa, Italy for the friendly Portuguese Navy as Liz in 1914 when she was bought by the Royal Navy for service in the Mediterranean. As such she joins the Town-class of the Second World War as the only other Royal Navy destroyer type not designed and built in the United Kingdom.
