Elazığ Province

Elâzığ Province is a province of Turkey with its seat in the city of Elâzığ. The source of the Euphrates river is located in this province. The province has a population of 552,646 as of 2010. The population of the province was 569,616 in 2000 and 498,225 in 1990. The total area of the province is 9,153 square kilometres, 826 km of which is covered by reservoirs and natural lakes. The current governor of the province is Muammer Erol (since 2006).

Yazıkonak (former Vertetil, meaning " rose garden") is a town in the central district of Elazığ Province, Turkey. It is situated to the west of Keban Dam resorvoir at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|37|N|39|18|E||| | |name= }}. The distance to Elazığ is 10 kilometres . The population of Yazıkonak is 8685 as of 2011. The town is a relatively new settlement. Elazığ Airport which is just at the southwest of Yazıkonak contributed to the rapid increase in population.

Elazığ Airport

Elazığ Airport is an airport in Elazığ, Turkey. First opened to air traffic in 1940, Elazig Airport is one of the oldest airports still in use in Turkey. The old runway 09/27 had been closed and has been removed. New 13/31 runway is installed. A new terminal building has also been built in 2012.

Gezin

Gezin is a town in Maden district of Elazığ Province, Turkey at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|31|N|39|31|E||| | |name= }}. It is on Turkish state highway D.885 on the east shore of Lake Hazar, 25 kilometres from Maden and 55 kilometres from Elazığ. As of 2011 the population was 1288. Formerly Gezin was situated several kilometers east of its present location, but was moved to its present place by the lake. In 1994 Gezin was declared a seat of township.
