Karaburun Peninsula, Turkey

Karaburun Peninsula is a peninsula in the extreme western end of Turkey, one of the largest in the country. The peninsula carries the same name as the town and administrative center, Karaburun, located at a pivotal point in its extremity. It is located west of the city of İzmir, comprised wholly within İzmir Province and is surrounded by the Aegean Sea.

Otoyol 32

Otoyol 32 (English: Motorway 32), abbreviated as O-32, aka İzmir-Çeşme Otoyolu (English: Izmir-Çeşme Motorway), is a toll motorway in the Aegean Region of Turkey connecting the cities İzmir and Çeşme. It runs in east-west direction in a length of 68 km . Its construction started in December 1989 and the highway was opened in September 1997.

Balıklıova

Balıklıova is a small village between Urla and Karaburun, in the Urla district, İzmir Province of Turkey. The meaning of the word Balıklıova comes from a "valley full of fish" Particularly during summer time Balıklıova has so many inhabitants. Urla Clashes

After the Greek army landed at Smyrna, it advanced and occupied Bornova and Karşıyaka. After that it advanced to the Karaburun Peninsula where Urla was situated. According to the population statistics from 1914, 9,321 Turks and 24,711 Greeks were living in Urla.
