Nusaybin railway station

Nusaybin Railway Station is a railway station in the town of Nusaybin, Turkey next to the Turkey/Syria border. The station is the easternmost station in Turkey on the Baghdad Railway. The station was opened on October 25, 1918 by the Baghdad Railway. As of now, the station has no passenger service.

School of Nisibis

The School of Nisibis, for a time absorbed into the School of Edessa, was an educational establishment in Nisibis, modern-day Turkey. It was an important spiritual center of the early Church of the East, and like Gundeshapur, is sometimes referred to as the world's first university. The School had three primary departments teaching, Theology, Philosophy, and Medicine. The most famous of the School's teachers was Narsai who was previously heading the School of Edessa.

Qamishli

Mount Izla

Mt. Izla (Syriac: ܛܘܪܐ ܕܐܝܙܠܐ Turo d'Izlo), also Mountain of Nisibis, or briefly in the 9th century, Mt. Kashyari, is a low mountain or ridge near Nisibis in what once was Sassanid Persia, but is now southeastern Turkey, along the border with Syria. The ridge is the location of dozens of ancient monasteries which were built in the early centuries of Christianity. In modern times, all of the monasteries are in ruins except for that of Saint Melke, Mor Malke Monastery.
