Newport Guildhall

Newport Guildhall is a large timber-framed Guildhall (assembly building) in Newport, Shropshire. It is one of the few timber-framed buildings that remain in the town after a disastrous fire in 1666.

Newport Rural District

Newport was a rural district in Shropshire, England from 1894 to 1934. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 from that part of the Newport rural sanitary district which was in Shropshire It was abolished in 1934 under a County Review Order, and was merged into the Wellington Rural District.

Longford Hall

Longford Hall is a large country estate in Longford, a village in Shropshire, England near the town of Newport, built in 1785 for Colonel Ralph Leeke who was political agent of the British East India Company, designed by Joseph Bonomi, who had worked with Robert and James Adam. The hall is placed on top of a low rise and looks over farmland towards the Lilleshall monument which is surrounded by burials.

Lilleshall Hall

Lilleshall Hall is a large former country house and estate located near Lilleshall in Shropshire, England. It was based around an Augustinian Abbey founded in the 12th century, with its estate running to some 30,000 acres . The ruins of the original Lilleshall Abbey are protected today by English Heritage. Now run by Serco Leisure Operating Ltd on behalf of Sport England, Lilleshall is one of five National Sports Centres.
