Leckhampstead, Berkshire

Leckhampstead is a village and civil parish in Berkshire, England lying in the North Wessex Downs. It is a mixture of modern and more traditional thatched houses. It is located in the West Berkshire district, north of the M4 motorway lying just off the road between Newbury about 6 miles to the south-southeast and Wantage about 12.5 miles to the north-northwest. The town of Hungerford is about 12.5 miles to the southwest.

Trinity School (Newbury)

Trinity School is a co-educational secondary school with academy status in Newbury, Berkshire. The school is relatively new and has been open since 1999 when two existing schools and one new school combined - hence the name Trinity. Trinity School caters for pupils between the ages of 11 and 18. The Elizabethan Grade 1 listed Shaw House mansion is located adjacent to the grounds of the school. It has approximately 1000 pupils in attendance.

Second Battle of Newbury

The Second Battle of Newbury was a battle of the English Civil War fought on 27 October, 1644, in Speen, adjoining Newbury in Berkshire. The battle was fought close to the site of the First Battle of Newbury, which took place in late September the previous year. The combined armies of Parliament inflicted a tactical defeat on the Royalists, but failed to gain any strategic advantage.
