River Skerne

The River Skerne is a tributary of the River Tees it flows through County Durham in England. The Skerne is about 25 miles long, the Skerne begins in magnesian limestone hills between Trimdon and Trimdon Grange and ends at Hurworth Place where it joins the River Tees. Three miles after the source the Skerne is joined by Hurworth Burn and enters Hurworth Burn Reservoir on the borders of Stockton-on-Tees and County Durham. On leaving the reservoir, the Skerne heads south-west towards Sedgefield.

Croft Circuit

Croft Circuit is a motor racing circuit located near Dalton-on-Tees in North Yorkshire, England. The tarmac circuit is just over 2 miles long and is based on the lands of an airfield, but has long since moved on from being a basic airfield circuit. The circuit holds meetings of the British Touring Car Championship, British Superbike and Pickup Truck Racing race series.

The Darlington Arena

The Darlington Arena is a stadium in Darlington, County Durham, that hosted Darlington Football Club's home fixtures between 2003 and 2012. In December 2012, it was bought by Darlington Mowden Park Rugby Football Club.

RAF Croft

Royal Air Force Station Croft or RAF Croft is a former Royal Air Force station located 4.6 miles south of Darlington, County Durham, England and 8 miles north east of Richmond, North Yorkshire. The site is also known locally as Croft Aerodrome or Neasham. The airfield was opened in 1941 for use by the Royal Air Force (RAF) but by 1942 the aerodrome had been taken over by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) for training as part of No. 6 Group RCAF.

Darlington rail crash

The Darlington rail accident occurred on 28 June 1928 when a parcels train and an excursion train collided head on at Darlington Bank Top station. The accident was caused by the parcels train driver passing a signal at danger, due to misunderstanding the signalling layout in an unfamiliar part of the station. This accident resulted in the deaths of 25 people and the serious injury of 45 people.
