East Langton

East Langton (derived from the Anglo-Saxon word for an enclosure, meaning "long town") is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England. The parish also includes Church Langton. It is near Kibworth and Market Harborough, and the parish according to the 2001 census had a population of 351. Church Langton church tower is a landmark to travellers from the south and the whole building is finely proportioned.

Market Harborough Rural District

The rural district of Market Harborough existed in Leicestershire, England, from 1894 to 1974. It covered the area around Market Harborough, but not including it. It was greatly extended by the abolition of Hallaton Rural District in 1935. In 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972 it merged with Harborough urban district, Billesdon Rural District, Lutterworth Rural District to form the Harborough non-metropolitan district.

Thorpe Langton

Thorpe Langton (derived from the Anglo-Saxon word for an enclosure, meaning "long town") is a village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, about four miles north of Market Harborough. The parish had a population of 171 according to the 2001 census. Thorpe Langton is the home of the Baker's Arms pub and St. Leonard's church, but is otherwise solely residential.

Gartree Hundred

Gartree was a hundred of Leicestershire. It was in the south-east of the county, roughly corresponding to today's Harborough district. The town of Market Harborough was its largest settlement. It gives its name to HMP Gartree, and also to the Gartree electoral division of Leicestershire.
