The ride was the first flying roller coaster designed by the Swiss manufacturers Bolliger & Mabillard. It was manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) and opened in 1994. It is located in the Forbidden Valley area of the park, adjacent to Air, a flying B&M roller coaster that opened in 2002. More than 50 million people have ridden it since opening.

Runaway Mine Train (Alton Towers)
The Runaway Mine Train is a powered steel roller coaster made by MACK Rides of Germany. The ride is located in the Katanga Canyon area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. The ride tends to have overly-enthusiastic operators, who quite often shout "Choo Choo" as the train passes through the station. The train normally makes two circuits for each ride, although on quiet days it has been known to run for three or more circuits.
