White Horse Tavern, Cambridge

The White Horse Tavern or White Horse Inn was in the 16th century the meeting place in Cambridge for English Protestant reformers who discussed Lutheran ideas. These discussions met as early as 1521. According to the historian Geoffrey Elton the group of university dons who met there were nicknamed 'Little Germany' in reference to their discussions of Luther.

Caxton Gibbet

Caxton Gibbet is a small knoll on Ermine Street in England, running between London and Huntingdon, near its crossing with the road between Oxford and Cambridge. There are tales of murderers being hanged and displayed at the nearby village of Caxton in the 1670s, and records in a court case that the gibbet was still there in 1745. Several local writers say that it was no longer there by the early decades of the nineteenth century.

Papworth Hospital

Papworth Hospital is a heart and lung hospital in Cambridgeshire, England. It was home to the first successful heart transplant in the UK and one of the world's first beating-heart transplants. The hospital was founded in 1917 as a sanatorium and hospital for the treatment of tuberculosis. From the 1950s, surgical facilities developed, beginning with thoracic (chest/lung) surgery and expanding to cardiac surgery. Today, Papworth is the UK's main heart/lung transplant centre.

Gransden and Waresley Woods

Gransden and Waresley Woods are managed as a nature reserve by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough. Little Gransden Airfield

Little Gransden Airfield is a unlicensed airfield located near the village of Little Gransden, 5 NM southeast of St Neots, Cambridgeshire, England.
