Maryport Lighthouse

Maryport Lighthouse is a small Lighthouse located in Maryport, Cumbria, England, formerly run by the UK's General Lighthouse Authority, Trinity House. The original Maryport lighthouse was built in 1796, and was running on Acetylene by 1946. Trinity House took charge of it in 1961. The painter L. S. Lowry used Maryport and the lighthouse in several of his paintings. In 1996 a new tower was built from Aluminium and the lighthouse was connected to mains electricity.

River Ellen

The River Ellen is a river in the English county of Cumbria. The river rises on the Uldale Fells and runs in a generally western direction, passing Uldale, Ireby, Boltongate, Baggrow and Blennerhasset parish boundary and Aspatria. From there, it continues southwest (instead of more northwesterly) past Oughterside, Gilcrux, Bullgill, Crosby and Dearham, before flowing into the Solway Firth at Maryport. The river gives its name to the region of Allerdale.

Camerton (LNWR) railway station

Camerton railway station was situated on the Cockermouth & Workington Railway and served the village of Camerton. The station opened on 28 April 1847, and closed on 3 March 1952.
