British Rugby League Hall of Fame

The British Rugby League Hall of Fame was established by the Rugby Football League in 1988 to commemorate the greatest ever players in British rugby league. Players must have been retired for at least five years to be eligible; they must also have played at least ten years within the British game. Initially nine players were inducted when the Hall of Fame was opened; one more was announced in 1989.

Lawrence Batley Theatre

The Lawrence Batley Theatre is a theatre in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England which offers drama, music, dance and comedy. The theatre is named after Lawrence Batley, a local entrepreneur and philanthropist, who founded a nationwide cash and carry chain. The building was originally built in 1819 as a Methodist chapel. The chapel became a mission in 1906 until a decline in numbers saw the mission move out of the building in 1970.

Turnbridge

Turnbridge is the area to the east of Huddersfield town centre ring road in West Yorkshire, England. It forms a corridor along which passes St Andrews Road, (B6432), and the Huddersfield Broad Canal to Aspley, where the Broad Canal meets Huddersfield Narrow Canal in the Aspley Basin. There are places for a limited number of narrowboat moorings. Some have electric and fresh water services. The area is reputed to have gained its name from the 1865 built Turnbridge Lift Bridge over the canal.

Aspley, West Yorkshire

Aspley is an area to the south of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. It comprises a mixture of commercial units, a small number of houses and sections of the University of Huddersfield. It is known locally as Aspley Wharfe.
