Dean Lane railway station

Dean Lane railway station opened on 17 May 1880 and served Newton Heath, Manchester, England. The station was on the Oldham Loop Line 2+⁄2 miles north east of Manchester Victoria and was operated and managed by Northern Rail. There were once three stations in Newton Heath: Newton Heath, Dean Lane and Park. The station was 200 yards away from the Newton Heath Train Maintenance Depot.

North Road (football ground)

North Road was a football stadium and cricket field in Newton Heath, Manchester, England. It was the first home of Manchester United Football Club – then known as Newton Heath Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Football Club – from its foundation in 1878 until 1893, when the club moved to a new ground at Bank Street, Clayton. Initially the ground consisted only of the pitch, around which an estimated 12,000 spectators could congregate.

Manchester Central (Salvation Army)

Manchester Central corps of the Salvation Army is the main Salvation Army church (corps) in the city of Manchester. Located on the University of Manchester campus, the corps has a strong African flavour with a number of the congregation coming from Zimbabwe, together with its Shona-speaking choir. Other nationalities worshiping there are/have included Zambian, Eritrean, Korean, Liberian, Italian, Namibian and Nigerian, as well as British members.
