RAF Perranporth

RAF Perranporth was an RAF airfield situated near Perranporth, Cornwall, in the United Kingdom. The 330 acre (134 hectares) airfield was built as an RAF Spitfire station in World War II in 1941 and is situated on Cligga cliffs in the north of Cornwall. Rare 1942 film footage of RAF pilots and Spitfires at RAF Perranporth is shown on the BBC website.

Hanover (ship)

The Hanover was a two-masted brigantine packet ship owned and operated by the Falmouth Packet Company, which operated between 1688 and 1852. Hanover was 100-foot long and was built in 1757. On 13 December 1763, while en route from Lisbon to Falmouth, she was driven ashore by a gale. There were only three survivors out of 27 crew and 40 passengers. The location, near Perranporth has become known as Hanover Cove as a result.

Perranzabuloe

Perranzabuloe (Cornish: Pyran yn Treth) is a coastal civil parish and a hamlet in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The hamlet (containing the parish church) is situated just over a mile (2 km) south of the principal settlement of the parish, Perranporth; the hamlet is also seven miles (11 km) south-southwest of Newquay. Other settlements in the parish include Perrancoombe, Goonhavern, Mount and Callestick.

Holywell, Cornwall

Holywell is a coastal village in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is at Holywell Bay, about three miles (5 km) west-southwest of Newquay. Holywell beach adjoins the settlement to the northwest and Penhale Camp, an army training establishment regularly used by cadets, is half-a-mile to the southwest. On the north side of Holywell beach Holywell Cave is accessible at low tide and contains many pools formed by natural build up of minerals. W. J.
